DIMAPUR: As part of the Common Action Plan of NSLSA, the Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA), in collaboration with the Department of Labour and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Peren, organised a door to door awareness drive for workers in the unorganised sector and disaster affected individuals at Samziuram village on July 23.
The drive aimed to educate workers and victims of disaster about their legal rights, welfare schemes, social security benefits and the legal assistance available through Legal Services Institutions. Officials highlighted the importance of registration under labour welfare schemes, workplace safety, compensation, and relief and rehabilitation measures for disaster victims.
Door to door outreach was carried out across the village to ensure maximum interaction with residents. Special emphasis was laid on registering NBOCWWB cards under the Labour Department. A total of 49 eligible workers engaged in the unorganised sector-including drivers, manual labourers, electricians, construction workers, masons and carpenters-were identified and assisted for registration.
