PDLSA organises legal awareness & literacy prog

Two-day legal awareness and literacy porogramme was organised by Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) on August 31 and September 1 in Phek District.
On the first day of the programme at Sakraba village, resource person panel lawyer of PDLSA Akhro spoke on the important aspects and practice of Right to Information (RTI) and highlighted the salient features of Consumer Protection Act and its provisions on rights of a Consumer. 
Panel lawyer PDLSA, Vero spoke on the topic ‘Lok Adalat (The peoples Court)’ and highlighted its benefits. 
District and sessions judge  and chairman PDLSA, Longshi Ezung , spoke on “Motor vehicle Act” while civil Judge and secretary PDLSA, Ajong Imchen, illustrated on the topics “Domestic Violence Act” and “Nagaland Villages Councils Act, 1978”.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sakraba Village Council chairman. The programme was well attended by the village council members, students, villagers from all walks of life and women organization of the Sakraba Village.  
The second day of the programme was organised at the Phek Government College (PGC) where students and faculty members participated in the programme.  
Principal, PGC, welcomed and appreciated the officials of PDLSA for organizing the programme at the campus. Vice principal of PGC also spoke on the occasion.
Ajongba Imchen presented his topic on Ombudsman & Protection of Children from sexual offences Act, 2012 (POSCO ACT) while Longshi Ezung spoke on Civil Action matter as resource persons.
