One day seminar on People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) was conducted by Peace Channel on October 25 at St. Joseph Church, Niuland, Dimapur.
A press release by Peace Channel stated that the objective of the seminar was to “strengthen the local capacities for peace and enabling the community members to act for peace”.
A brief introduction on PFP forum was given by Peace Channel, program coordinator, Caroline Leisan. She described PFP as a Forum that believes in inclusiveness of every individual in the society so that every individual would be at peace and would learn to love, help and promote peace among others too.
Resource Person, Fr. Joseph described peace as the most important value for human beings and that Peace is the absence of war, conflict and violence.
Fr. Joseph spoke on the four different ways of living at Peace such as: good relationship with self; good relationship with others; good relationship with god and good relationship with nature.
He concluded by saying that when one have peace within, they become the lover, the promoter and the makers of peace.
Earlier, Fr. Mathew John, parish priest, St Joseph Church, Niuland welcomed the participants. The release informed that 25 people participated from all walks of life and agreed to commit themselves and form PFP to be trained by Peace Channel for a year on Peace building. The seminar ended with a prayer by David, Ex- Catechist, St Joseph Church, Niuland Town, Dimapur.
