
Peletkie Students’ Union (PSU) held its 46th convention and general election on December 21 and 22 at Peletkie Village under Peren district with advocate Asungbe N. Hau as speaker.
A press release from PSU informed that the Asungbe N. Hau spoke on the motto of the union “Yi Rai gong nie”.
He stressed on the importance of the wisdom of God and not educational heights alone.
Asungbe pointed out that the people of Lekie and Jalukie were brothers historically and that Peletkie as the elder one should take the lead.
The program was compered by Zeliang Students’ Union treasurer, Idosile Miliang, invocation was said by Bamsina Chamlak while PSU president, Paulamlungbe delivered presidential address.
During the closing ceremony, chairperson of Lekie Mtei Nko, Hiarwetlang Kenn who was the speaker, reflected on the past struggles of PSU and its initiation.
He lauded the contribution rendered by the student community to host the 46th general convention and encouraged each individual to continue their contribution.
He pointed out that our student community should not just study for education but study with a purpose to shine for the community.
The closing ceremony was compered by Izaipungle, invocation was said by Lekie Baptist Church, Sunday school superintendent Ilanggongbe Miliang.
During the general convention-cum-general election, a new team of office bearers was elected for the tenure 2021-24. The new team would be led by Pauziedibe Kenn as president and Kensamteing Ramlia as general secretary.
The program also conducted a blessing hour for the new PSU executive members by Pastor Lekie Baptist Church, Peusibe Kenn.
