Peren and Longlend held their District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings on October 6. Following are some minutes of the meetings.
Peren: The Peren DPDB meeting was held at the DC’s conference hall, New DC Complex Peren under the chairmanship of Chubawati Chang ADC Peren.
According to DIPR, he welcomed Namri Nchang, advisor, Water Resources department and chairman DPDB Peren and all the members.
Dr. Supongmenla Walling, deputy CMO Peren acknowledged the Education department, schools and students for their active support during the Measles-Rubella immunization campaign. Prizes for Measles-Rubella Immunization Campaign: Essay and Painting Competition were handed over to students of various schools by Namri Nchang.
Chubawati Chang, ADC Peren congratulated the Medical department for taking up various activities in spite of their heavy schedule.
Namri appealed to all DPDB members to regularly attend the meeting as well as their offices to serve public interest in district offices. An electronic slideshow presentation about the department’s activities was presented by the Agriculture department.
Longleng: The Longleng DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, John Tsulise Sangtam at the DC’s conference hall, Longleng.
According to DIPR, while welcoming the members, the DC highlighted the ongoing M-RVC in the district and urged the members to play an active role to sensitize the people in their respective communities by dispelling social media rumors and telling them about the importance of the MR vaccine for the future of children. Lamenting that very few students turned up for vaccination at Leinyak GPS, the DC directed the Education department to examine the case with the school authority and report the matter to him.
He also observed that District Hospital Longleng was in a pitiable condition without proper toilet facility, waste management, lack of water supply, etc. The DC appealed to all government officers and departments to contribute towards proper management of the hospital till the proposed new building was completed. He also urged the hospital authority to complete the OT and delivery room at the earliest so that people do not suffer.
SDO civil, D. Robin asked the members to use LED lights at home and in the offices to save energy. He also urged the officers to encourage the villagers and their community to purchase and use LED lights available at the DC office at a 90% subsidy. He also said that churches, NGOs and individuals can also purchase LED Street lights and fans at subsidized rates from the DC office.
