Peren district CAB meeting held

Peren District CHILDLINE Advisory Board (CAB) meeting was held on April 18, in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC), Peren under the chairmanship of SDO (C) Peren, Kemciyile.
According to a DIPR report, a short PowerPoint presentation was given by CHILDLINE Peren counsellor, Ganchuimei where she briefed on CHILDLINE activities, intervention cases, advocacy issues, visibility and achievements for April 2021-April 2022.
This was followed by a review of status of the previous CAB meeting agenda.
A discussion on current agenda was conducted which included: to translate POCSO Act (2012) into local language—Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei and Kuki; to conduct special drives against underage driving and regular checks near schools and town areas; to organise a seminar on child rights and child protection with community based organisations and to conduct orientation and training for Village Child Protection Committee in collaboration with DCPU.
Later, SDO (C) Peren Kemciyile requested CHILDLINE team to coordinate with departments and stakeholders for follow-up on agendas discussed and implementation.
