Peren DPDB meeting held

Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peren, Friday. According to a DIPR report, the meeting held under the chairmanship of DC and DPDB Peren vice-chairman, Vineet Kumar deliberated on developmental issues and challenges faced by the district.


The DC emphasised on the importance of regular attendance of officers and staff in order to ensure smooth functioning of offices. He further mentioned that attendance would be strictly monitored and stringent action would be initiated against those irregular officers and staff. The meeting deliberated on shifting of Peren Government College where the principal, Dr. Phyobenthung briefed the house on the current status of the college.

Speaking on the agenda of fire safety measures in the meeting, OC F&ES, Miyeihosul Neikha highlighted the wildfire incident which occurred last year in Peren Town as well as the challenges faced in some areas by the fire personnel while trying to mitigate the fire incidences. In this connection, the DC said a circular will be issued to all the departments to clear the periphery of their respective office premises and quarters. Work distribution pertaining to the forthcoming Republic Day celebration was also discussed, and further the house agreed to conduct a mass social work on January 24.
