Peren residents block road in protest

Residents of Peren town’s Mdipuiram and Beilikui wards have imposed indefinite road blocked to protest against the alleged “non-competition of road” by the contractor.
In a joint press release, Mdipuiram ward youth president Nduzeu and Beilikui ward youth organization, president Paukuleu said the residents necessitated the youths of the two wards to indefinitely block the under construction road as the contractor failed to respond to their “fervent appeal” for black-topping the road.
The signatories said the residents had appealed the responsible contractor several times, but turned a deaf ear to their plea. They said that the “callous attitude” of the contractor prompted the residents block the road.
Affirming that the blockade would continue till the contractor commenced the works, the signatories warned that the contractor would be held responsible in case any unwanted events arose.
