An inaugural program for water supply to New Headquarter Complex, Peren was held on January 18 with Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) minister, Jacob Zhimomi as the special guest.
According to a DIPR report, speaking at the function, Zhimomi said that Peren district had come a long way through many developmental works. He encouraged the people to preserve and protect the facilities provided by the department for the benefit of the public.
A brief technical report was presented by additional chief engineer, Er. Repangyangba Longkumer, where he said that the project cost Rs. 9.3 crores. It was supported by the Government of India, DoNER Ministry, under NLCPR. The total capacity of the treatment plant is 1.14 Million liters daily.
Peren DC, S. Tainiu expressed happiness and thanked the PHED for successfully completing the project on time. Commissioner & secretary PHED, Dr. Maongwati chaired the program and also delivered the welcome note. Pastor Hekoraing invoked God’s blessing and SE, Er. T. Sangtam proposed a vote of thanks.
