Petrol, diesel prices cut

After a day’s hiatus, the state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) decreased prices of petrol and diesel on Tuesday in line with the downward movement of global oil and product prices.

Prices of petrol and diesel were cut between 10-20 paise per litre across the country, but its retail rate varied depending on the level of local taxes in states. After Tuesday’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur came down to Rs.99.99 per litre while diesel decreased to Rs.91 per litre.

In the state capital, prices of petrol and diesel reduced to Rs.100.99 per litre and Rs.91.81 per litre respectively.

This cut in fuel prices had come amid declining global crude oil prices. The October contract of Brent crude oil on the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) was trading at $65.18.
