
Petrol and diesel prices climbed to fresh highs across the country on Friday as state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) hiked rates by another 30 paise a litre. According to IOCL, petrol in Delhi was priced at Rs 86.95 per litre while diesel cost Rs 77.13 a litre. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices stood at Rs 93.49 per litre and Rs 83.99 per litre, respectively – the highest among all four metros.
After Friday’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.89.35 per litre and diesel price increased to Rs.80.03 per litre. In the state capital Kohima, price of petrol climbed to Rs.90.27 per litre and diesel price was hiked to Rs.80.76 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices have recorded an upswing since January 6, 2021, after staying unchanged for almost a month.
