For the fifth straight day, the state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Saturday increased the prices of petrol and diesel pushing fuel rates to a new record high across the country.
According to a price notification of OMCs, petrol price was hiked by 30 paise per litre and diesel by 35 paise a litre. For four days in a row, the price of petrol has been hiked by 30 paise a litre and diesel by 35 paise, the biggest rally in rates.
After the latest rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.102.31 per litre while diesel price increased to Rs.94.61 per litre. In Kohima, prices of petrol and diesel surged to Rs.103.31 per litre and Rs.95.41 per litre respectively.
Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day. Prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.
