
State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased fuel price for the seventh consecutive day pushing the rate to fresh all-time highs across the country.
According to a price notification of state-owned OMCs, petrol price was hiked by 35 paise per litre, but diesel price remained unchanged.
After the latest rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur soared to Rs.108.34 per litre while diesel prices remained at Rs.100.60 per litre.
In the state capital Kohima, petrol price climbed to Rs.101.50 per litre while in Tuensang it was retailing at Rs.112.01 per litre.
Petrol price has been hiked on 21 occasions since September 28, when a three-week-long hiatus in rate revision ended. In all, prices have gone up by Rs 6.4 a litre.
Diesel rates have been increased by Rs 7.70 per litre in 24 hikes since September 24.
Crude price has been on a surge rising over three-year high level of over $ 85 a barrel now as global demand remains firm while OPEC+ continues to move s lowly on increasing production.
OMCs revise the fuel rates on a daily basis, by taking into account the crude oil prices in the international markets, and the rupee-dollar exchange rates. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
