PFST flays SVC

Public forum Shamtor Town (PFST) has advised Shamator Village Council (SVC) not to rush emotionally in the media, since following the advisory note issued by Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC), about twenty households have vacated/deserted Shamator town.
In a press note, PFST president, Y. Tokiu and general secretary, K. Akiuba said if SVC truly claimed that Shamator town belongs to them, then it should have sacrificed tooth and nail to safeguard the town when it was at the verge of “probable annihilation” in the face of dire consequences due to the threat posed by TTC and TSU.
PFST reminded SVC that the previous advisory of TTC was a clear directive to the individuals/households from the Tikhir sub-dialect to vacate themselves from the towns/villages affiliated to the Yimchungru tribe and not otherwise.
They also claimed that PFST, a civil organization, was formed legally with a sole objective to protect its members irrespective of colours and also their rights and properties, and therefore, it has the legitimate right to “make/adopt positive resolutions/directive/orders” within its jurisdiction.
Alleging that despite repeated invitations by various civil organizations for sitting across the table in order to thrash out the differences and misgivings, PFST said SVC remained “adamant and non-cooperative”.
Therefore, PFST asked SVC to restrain itself from rendering false and provocative statements in the media but come out openly and boldly in supporting the good will initiatives of the civil organizations.
PFST further re-affirmed to stand to its earlier November 7, 2015, resolution.
