Ward chairmen union Pfutsero (WCUP) and GB Association Pfutsero have strongly condemned the “heinous act of child abuse” allegedly committed by a foster mother (grandmother) of an 11-year-old child.
In a joint statement, WCUP convenor Mesulo Khalo, secretary Tusoveyo Puro and head GB Pfutsero Hunetsu Vero stated that severe abuse inflicted by the foster mother, of Gidemi village and resident of Rukizu colony, violated the child’s fundamental rights and contravened Naga customary laws, bringing shame to the Chakhesang community.
The two bodies extended empathy to the child and wished her speedy recovery from physical and emotional trauma.
Affirming support to June 29, 2025, condemnation letter by Rukizu Colony and Rukizu Youth Organisation, the GB association and WCUP endorsed their decision to expel the accused from the colony.
