
Peren Government College (PGC) organized an awareness program on the “Evils of Tobacco” at the college premises on October 4.
A press release by convenor, media cell, PGC stated that Dr Sabino, district nodal officer NTCP, Peren, who was the resource person, briefed those present on the current status of Nagaland among the Indian states through slideshow presentations and audio-visuals. She also highlighted the evils of tobacco use and advised the students to avoid tobacco consumption.
Principal, Dr. Katoni Jakhalu, also shared on the menace of tobacco and challenged the students to declare the college tobacco free. The program was chaired by assistant professor and convenor, Anti-Tobacco Committee, Joseph K. J; vice principal, Albert delivered the welcome speech; and assistant professor, Mary Rose delivered the vote of thanks.
The program was attended by about 120 students and faculty members.
