The 8th edition of Phom Gazetted Officers Association (PGOA) meeting was held at Langto Park Yachem village on October 26, hosted by the Yachem Gazetted Officers (YGO).
A press release from PGOA president, B. Nyenghong Phom stated that in the first session, Chingan Phom, president of Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) and, S. Pangnyu Phom, minister, exhorted the meeting while Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung gave a strong presentation on the topic “A visionary leader”. He challenged the officers to live a life worthy of the officer title and to properly utilize all God gifted potential for the betterment of humanity.
The other highlights of the program were special numbers presented by Yachem Students Union and Phom folk song by Anuti Lunglak Yachem. The first session was attended by about 250 delegates and officers from different parts of Nagaland. Among others who attended the program were John Tsalise Sangtam, DC Longleng, Yangba Konyak, SP Longleng and Temsuwati, ADC Longleng. One minute of silence was observed as a mark of respect to departed members, Dr. Tia Phom MO and Kam Mukho deputy secretary.
The technical session was marked with the adoption of the following resolutions: approval of the association constitution; approval of association logo and motto; change of association nomenclature from Phom Lungvang Pangthai to Phom Gazetted Officers’ Association.
The meeting also accepted and welcomed the invitation of the Yongam Village Council to host the 9th session of the association at Shingphang project.
Earlier, president of the PGOA, B. Nyenghong Phom, joint director of Agriculture, in the presence of minister for Health and Family Welfare S. Pangnyu Phom and Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung former chairman NPSC, declared Yachem village as a green, organic and plastic free village and planted decorative tree saplings to mark the occasion.
