DIMAPUR, AUG 17 (NPN): Nagaland’s Rajya Sabha MP S. Phangnon Konyak has been appointed national secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as part of the party’s revamped national team under president Nitin Nabin. Phangnon is among 16 leaders appointed as national secretaries.
Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Phangnon thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nabin for entrusting her with the responsibility. “I am grateful to our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Hon’ble National President Shri Nitin Nabin ji for reposing their faith and giving me this responsibility to serve our party as National Secretary of BJP,” she said in a social media post. She also sought the guidance and support of party leaders and workers as she takes up the new responsibility.
State deputy chief minister Y. Patton congratulated Phangnon on her appointment and wished her success in the new role. “Heartiest congratulations to Smt. S. Phangnon Ji on being appointed National Secretary of the BJP,” Patton said, adding that her experience, dedication and commitment would contribute to the party and service of the people.
