Rajya Sabha MP, S. Phangnon Konyak attended the inaugural programme of the International Conference on “Delimitation in India: Balancing Representation and Federal Equity” organised by the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi at Sir Shankar Lal Concert Hall, New Delhi on September 27, 2025.
The programme was graced by Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh, along with dignitaries and participants from across the country.
Speaking as guest of honour, Phangnon commended the Faculty of Law for organising the timely initiative, mentioning that delimitation plays a crucial role in ensuring fair representation and strengthening India’s federal structure.
She also highlighted the vibrancy of India’s democracy and cited the Next Gen GST Reforms as a model of cooperative federalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She noted that the reforms were made possible through unanimous consensus in the GST Council.
