Phase-I ICT, DIKSHA & Cyber Security orientation concludes

DIMAPUR

The final session of Phase-I orientation on ICT, DIKSHA, and Cyber Security for DIET faculty and trainees concluded on August 25 at DIET Dimapur.
The programme, initiated by SCERT Nagaland, was earlier conducted at DIET Chiechama and DIET Wokha.
According to a press release issued by SCERT, Nagaland, Kohima, Daniel Thong Seb, delivering welcome address, DIET Dimapur principal Megowheno Khate expressed that the institution had long awaited such an orientation, given its relevance in today’s educational landscape. She also extended gratitude to SCERT Director Keviraleü Kerhuo for facilitating the programme.
Resource persons included Daniel Thong Seb, vice principal and Head of IE and ICT, SCERT Nagaland; Er. Kezhalenuo Rutsa, lecturer at DIET Chiechama; and Aylwin Semp, lecturer at DIET Wokha.
Er. Kezhalenuo highlighted the evolution from the term Educational Technology (ET) to the modern concept of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), stressing its bidirectional relationship with education and its indispensability.
Aylwin Semp, in his session, emphasized the importance of cyber hygiene, advising participants to regularly update passwords with strong combinations to prevent hacking.
He noted that while cyber threats evolve rapidly, informed users can stay protected.
Daniel Thong Seb informed that eTextbooks for all 18 recognized Naga languages from Classes 1 to 8 are now available on the DIKSHA Nagaland Tenant, along with SCERT and NBSE textbooks. He encouraged educators and the public to make full use of the platform.
The programme witnessed participation from 100 attendees and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by DIET Dimapur vice principal Tianaro Longkumer.
