
Department of Public Health Engineering (PHE), Kiphire division, conducted a two-day basic training/workshop on skill development under Jal Jeevan Mission support activity on December 2 and 3 at EE, PHED office Kiphire.
A press release by PHE Kiphire division stated that the training was conducted under the supervision of executive engineer (PHED), Er. Akokba Sair, where he highlighted objective and purpose behind training stating that the training on skill development under JJM was to ensure sustainability of water supply infrastructure and to enhance skill of village functionaries for operation and maintenance of assets.
Junior engineer, Er. Metmei Phom, along with master trainer, further demonstrated on how to use equipment’s and methods involved in plumbing, masonry and welding to participants, followed by activities involving self-operation of equipment and technical way of doing it.
The objective of the training was to equipped and entrust village functionaries to operate and maintain various assets that are available in their respective villages.
Altogether, 25 participants from 15 village took part who were trained and entrusted to overlook on their village assets.
