PHED bids farewell to officers

Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Nagaland bade farewell to the officers who have completed 35 years in service at a function held at PHED office in Kohima on Wednesday.
Addressing the function, director, WSSO, PHED, Er. KG Sumi recalled the contribution of the officials who took retirement and said that many government servants could not reach retirement age due to use of intoxicants. He urged upon the officials and employees to keep themselves fit in order to face any challenges that lay ahead.
Additional Chief Engineer, Er. J. Walter Longchar said officers who reached retirement were worthy to be honoured. He also urged upon the employees to help retired officers at anytime.
The outgoing officer V. Tozhevi recalled how he had to manage the expenditures of his family with Rs 510 that he got as salary from the department after joining in the service 35 years ago. He shared his experiences of working with seven chief engineers from Er. Akam Meren to Er. Kevisekho Kruse and expressed gratitude to officials and employees of the department  for highest honour and respect.
The function was chaired by Er. Repang Longkumer, SE (M&I).
