PHED bids farewell to outgoing officer

Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) organised a farewell programme for the outgoing principal secretary PHED, Dr. Maongwati Aier at the PHE chief engineer office here on Wednesday. Dr.Maongwati in his address thanked God for the blessings and the privileged to serve the people. 
Aier said he was impressed with the high quality of officers he worked with and called them “punctuality team”. He thanked and urged them to continue working for the improvement of the department to give better service to the public even with odd challenges being faced. The retiring principal secretary termed chief engineer Er.Y.Tep as a well experienced man in the department and hoped that the department would continue to scale higher under his leadership and extended best wishes to all the staff for their new assignments.
Speaking on the occasion, Addl. Secretary, PHED Mhathung Tungoe said Dr.Maongwati Aier was an effective IAS officer till his retirement and have been awarded two National Awards by president of India for the 2011 census and by Election Commission of India for the 2013 General Election to the state Assembly and the Governor’s award in 2001 for meritorious service. 
Tungoe said under Dr. Aier’s initiative water supply to Wokha town could be commission and Nagaland state was declared 100% ODF state through the Swachh Bharat Mission, Government of India. Chief engineer PHED, Er.Y.Tep in his address stated that the outgoing principal secretary has successfully completed his service by the grace of God and said he worked tirelessly and tremendously for the department.  
On behalf of the department, he expressed gratitude to Dr.Maongwati Aier and wished him a successful future.
