
The Public Health Engineering Department bade farewell to its chief engineer, Er.Kevisekho Kruse who opted out to go on early voluntary retirement at the capital convention centre Monday in Kohima.
Er. Kruse expressed that he was privileged with the opportunity to have served the people of Nagaland through the department for nearly 34 years. He thanked God for His special blessings, the support of family members and for the strong support and cooperation of all officers and staff.
Appreciating the high quality of the officers he had worked with, Er. Kruse called them his, “dream team”. He urged them to continue to give better service delivery to the public.
He said Er. KG Sumi, the new chief engineer was an experienced man and hoped that the department would continue to scale higher under his leadership. Er. Kruse also said that department was very privileged to have a dynamic and knowledgeable secretary in the person of Dr. Maongwati Aier. Speaking on behalf of the PHED officers and staff, additional CE, Er. Yhusinlo Tep, mentioned that one of the biggest achievements in the history of PHED was the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), wherein Er.K.Kruse had played a major role in its implementation. It had resulted in reduction of excess W/C employees by 3872 and of annual expenditure by several crores of rupees.
Secretary, Dr. Maongwati Aier also spoke on the occasion, pointing that the outgoing chief engineer has successfully completed 34 years in service by the grace of God and acknowledged him as having achieved a lot during his tenure. He also presented a special solo in honour of the outgoing chief engineer.
Earlier the function was chaired by the new chief engineer, K.G. Sumi, invocation by Pelhousehu Belho, pastor, Khedi Baptist Church of Kohima village, short speeches were also delivered by Er. Khetoi, EE Dimapur (U), EE. A. Kent,WSSO, followed by a special song from Er. Mezivil Stanny Kikhi, SDO. Er.Repang Longkumer SE (M&I) pronounced the vote of thanks.
