
Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), (rural) division, Dimapur conducted more IECs on Jal Jeevan Mission’s ongoing 100 days campaign on November 16 and 17 to provide piped water supply to schools and Anganwadi centres at Niuland and Aghunaqa blocks.
A press release by PHED (rural) division, Dimapur stated that IEC team from the division led by SDO, PHE-Niuland, Narisen Y Jami conducted the campaign which was attended by Anganwadi workers, teachers and WATSAN members from the villages under respective blocks.
Jami addressed the participants on the objective of the 100 days campaign and that safe water to children was a priority under the campaign.
Resource persons from the team including sanitation & hygiene consultant, DWSM, PHED (rural), Dimapur, Imojungla Longkumer elaborated on water borne diseases, safe water for children and water quality standards. Chemist, DWSM, PHED(R) Dimapur, Tzutipokla Longkumer also stressed on importance of conserving and recharging ground water and protecting water sources from contamination.
