PHED, Horticulture deptts bid adieu to outgoing officers

Department of PHE held a farewell function in honour of the outgoing additional chief engineer, Er. J. Walter Longchar on February 28 at PHED Directorate Office, Kohima. 
In an emotional speech, Er. Longchar expressed his gratefulness to God for giving him such an opportunity to serve the people through the department for many years and also thanked the officers and staff for the support and friendship that he received during the course of his career. He stated that during the past few years the department had made much progress on all fronts, especially in the area of personal management which was known to all. He wished that this high standard of performance would be continued forward.
Commissioner & secretary of PHED in his speech lauded the high level of commitment and service rendered by the outgoing officer and that Er. Longchar after the retirement from govt. service would continue to scale higher in the service for the people.
Chief engineer, Er. Kevisekho Kruse, spoke on behalf of the department and said that Er. Longchar had served the department with distinction for nearly 32 years. He said the way he had discharged his duty with integrity, speed and the manner in which he administered personal management were particularly laudable.
Er. Yhusinlo Tep, the in-coming addl. chief engineer and Er. Khetoi, executive engineer and president of Association of PHE Engineers also spoke at the function. 
The program was attended by senior officers  and staff of the department . Er. Longchar joined the department as SDO in 1985 and retired as addl. chief engineer on attaining superannuation of age. 
HORTICULTURE: In a similar programme, department of Horticulture organized farewell for outgoing director, Pawan Kumar on March 1 at conference hall of the directorate. 
In his farewell speech, Pawan Kumar thanked God for blessing him and letting him complete 35 years of service in good health. He also thanked his junior officers and staff of the department for the cooperation rendered to him during his term of service. 
He further urged the employees to remain sincere, honest, transparent and hardworking in whatever they do in order to achieve real success.
Others who spoke in the programme included parliamentary secretary of Horticulture, Kejong Chang, secretary, Horticulture, Alan Gonmei, incoming director, Arun Mech, directorate officers, district horticulture officers and subordinates and other well wishers.
The programme was chaired by deputy director Horticulture, N. Amos Ao. Welcome speech and vote of thanks were delivered by deputy director, Qhutovi Wotsa and district horticulture officer, Dimapur, Jerry Patton.
