A capacity building training on the Open Defecation Free Plus (ODF+) component and operation and maintenance under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and block level recognition of the best performers under Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Kohima Urban Division was held on March 15 at the PHED Kohima Urban Division office.
A press release by PHED Kohima Urban Division informed that the programme was organised by District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM), PHED, Kohima Urban Division and sponsored by Water and Sanitation Support Organisation (WSSO), PHED, Nagaland, Kohima.
During the training, executive engineer, PHED, Kohima Urban Division, Er. Neilhoukholie Chielie, encouraged the villages to keep up with the good practices and put in their best efforts for the progress and development of the village. JE, PHED, Kohima Urban Division, Er. Tayongzulu, spoke about good sanitary practices and the ODF Plus components were deliberated upon by district coordinator, PHED, Kohima division, Ashale Seb.
Participants were highlighted on the grey water management and plastic waste by IEC & WASH consultant, PHED, Kohima Urban Division, Vibou Seyie, while operation and maintenance under JJM topic was taken up by SDO II, PHED, Kohima Urban Division, Er. Keneisevi Meyase.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WATSAN) chairman of Jotsoma Village, Vithoto Nakhro, was awarded the “Best WATSAN Chairman” while Chede Model was felicitated the “Best Performing Village”, under Kohima block.
