Department of Public Health and Engineering (PHED) launched a Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) tool for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Information, Education, Communication (IEC) activities on April 13, at the 4th state level co-ordination committee meeting with the State Implementing Support Agency (ISA) North-East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA).
A press release by the department informed that principal secretary, PHED, E Mhonbemo Patton and chief engineer, sanitation and WSSO, PHED, Thsathrichem Sangtam attended the launching programme.
PHED said community was key and active stakeholder of the mission at all stages of planning, implementation, management, operation and maintenance of the in-village water supply systems including drinking water sources.
The department said Social Behaviour Change Communication strategy and tools had been conceptualized and designed based on consultative meetings with various stakeholders and research study.
The six posters in English and six local dialects, three animated videos in Nagamese developed by the State ISA NEIDA was launched for capacity building and SBCC campaigns.
