PHED Peren clarifies on JJM, NLCPR schemes

Reacting on the news item published on September 5, in connection with a RTI application on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and NLCPR schemes at Samziuram village by the Samziuram Civil Rights Forum (SCRF), the PHED Peren has clarified that the RTI application was filed by the three individuals and not on behalf of the SCRF.

In a press release, Executive Engineer PHED Peren Pursenla Ao, informed that the NLCPR and JJM schemes at Samziuram village were inter related to provide water supply and Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) respectively, and the progress of work depended on each other.

The department claimed that JJM was a retrofitting scheme, where two numbers of 20,000 litres RCC tanks have been constructed and work on FHTC for the two tanks completed, and the rest of the FHTCs work would be completed once 15 number of distribution tanks under NLCPR project were completed.
The EE also claimed that since the civil works and procurement of pipes were completed for the “retrofitting scheme” under JJM, only the pipe fitting part remained and the progress percentage has also been reflected on the website.

The EE also mentioned that the department officers and staff were working with dedication to attain the desired objectives of JJM and NLCPR within the prescribed timelines under challenging conditions with full support and cooperation of the village community.

Further, the EE informed that RTI applicants were welcomed to discuss any issues or grievances with regards with the concerned department officers and therefore urged them to refrain from publishing allegations without ascertaining the facts.
