PHED Zunheboto division district water & sanitation mission (DWSM) conducted activities under information education and communication (IEC) at Satoi Town, participatory rural appraisal (PRA) exercise at Satoi Village, Kheshito and Ghokhuvi and inter-district exposure trip for WATSAN members at Wokha village recently. In a press release, PHED, Zunheboto division executive engineer Inashe Kiba said the team consisting of junior engineer and consultants highlighted the ill effects of unhygienic village condition and importance of cleanliness. They also informed on the steps to be taken to keep the village and surroundings clean, ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventive measures, safe disposal of human excreta, safe disposal of solid waste and liquid waste. Team also interacted with village council members, teachers, students union, church leaders, Anganwadi workers, self help groups and WATSAN committee members relating to village water supply and sanitation. Village leaders and the teachers acknowledged the department for undertaking such activities in the village/town and urged the department to undertake more activities on water and sanitation in the future.
