Phek and Kiphire hold monthly DPDBs meeting

The Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) and Kiphire DPDB convened its July meeting on July 14 and 15 respectively.
Phek DPDB discusses community cleanliness, infrastructure and societal registration
The Phek DPDB meeting was held at the ADC’s Office in Pfutsero under the chairmanship of Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo. Key discussions centered on community-wide cleanliness initiatives, road infrastructure improvement, and society registration approvals.
According to a DIPR report, DC and vice chairman DPDB, Rhosietho Ngouri, welcomed new members followed by formal introductions. Chairman Khamo commended the district administration for successfully conducting mass social work in Pfutsero on July 5 and 12, aligning with the June resolution for monthly community service.
The meeting included an expression of appreciation for Padma Shri awardee Sano Vamuzo, recognized for exemplary contributions. Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA thanked the chairman for selecting Pfutsero for the meeting and urged local authorities to raise public awareness on proper waste disposal.
Key agenda items included recommendations to register Elpis Society (Phek Town) and Kuvetho Society (Kikruma Village), which were forwarded for higher authority approval. Updates on town road improvements were shared, with submitted schemes pending government approval.
Under the Local Area Development Program (LADP) 2025–2026, the board approved schemes for Phek district. Presentations from Executive Engineer Er. A. Ritachu Thurr (Power Department) and DFO R. Esther Angami (Fisheries Department) highlighted ongoing initiatives. The session began with a prayer led by pastor Thsuingupe Kapfo of Pfutsero Town Baptist Church.
Kiphire DPDB tackles development agendas and urges accountability
The Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on July 15 at the DC Conference Hall, chaired by DC and vice chairman Temsuwati Longkumer, alongside Advisor for Home Guards & Civil Defence, Fire & Emergency Services, and Relief & Rehabilitation, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger.
The meeting emphasized collective responsibility and adherence to protocols, with Longkumer urging members to ensure action against absenteeism and strengthen inter-departmental cooperation to meet development goals.
Advisor Yimchunger commended the efforts of government officials and urged sincerity in implementing developmental programmes. He emphasized the importance of active participation and commitment toward district progress, reaffirming Kiphire’s potential as an inspirational model.
Major agendas discussed included proposals for the Longmatra Mango Festival 2025, upgradation of SC-HWC to PHC, and registration of Good Will Society. The board also deliberated on personnel postings—SDO (Housing Development) Pungro, AUDO (Assistant Urban Development Officer) Kiphire, and District Transport Officer—and recommended the approval of LADP 2025–2026 schemes.
A PowerPoint presentation was made by Kiphire DEF Police and the Fisheries Department, offering insights into current activities and future plans. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
