Phek DLSA extends legal care to jail inmates

With an aim to ensure the rights of the prisoner and provide assistance in the form of care, counseling and legal aid to the inmates, officials of Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) visited District Sub-Jail Phek on August 4.  
Led by district & sessions judge and chairman of PDLSA, Longshi Ezung, civil judge and PDLSA, Ajong Imchen, along with panel lawyers and para legal volunteers, the team interacted with jail staff, authorities and the inmates. 
During the visit the under trials prisoners and convicts were sensitized on various rights and free legal aid provisions.  
PDLSA team also examined the health conditions and recorded the grievance and complaint of the Jail inmates. Evaluation and assessment was performed to ensure speedy trial for the under trial prisoners and to provide legal assistance.
