Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) on Wednesday recommended upgradation of Meluri Sub Division to a full- fledged district.
The board recommended after the agenda was brought forwarded by Pochury Hoho (PH) at the meeting of Phek DPDB, which was also attended by all the five elected legislators of Phek district.
After hearing from PH president Chonpa Jurry and Z.Nyusietho Nyuthe (an elected representative from 20 Meluri A/C), Phek DC and vice chairman DPDB Kumar Ramnikant, informed that since no objection has been received at the meeting, the board will communicate its recommendation to the concerned department for further course of action.
It may be recalled that Pochury Hoho alongwith other frontal organizations had submitted memorandums addressed to the chief minister in 2021 and 2022 for upgradation of Meluri sub division to a full-fledged district.
