DIMAPUR: District Level Committee for Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) held a meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall, Phek on August 13, 2026, chaired by DC Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, who is also the chairman of DWSM.
According to DIPR report, Executive Engineer, PHED, Er. Narisen Jami presented the overall progress of JJM and Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in the district, highlighting achievements under both programmes, including coverage of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs), implementation status of ongoing schemes, and sanitation interventions. She also briefed the house on key challenges faced during implementation, stressing the urgency of Har Ghar Jal (HGJ) declaration and urging departments, village councils and the committee to extend cooperation for completion of pending activities and certification processes.
DEO (Education) presented the status of water supply facilities in schools, while District Project Officer (ICDS) reported on coverage in Anganwadi centres. BDO (DRDA), Phek shared updates on JJM works implemented by the Rural Development Department.
In his concluding remarks, DC Nguori called upon all concerned departments to intensify efforts for timely completion of pending JJM and SBM activities.
