Phek farmers to market cabbage

Cabbage cultivators under Phek district will now have their dreams come true of marketing their bumper harvest as an agreement was reached today with the Dimapur Vegetable Wholesalers Committee (DVWC) who will buy their products.
A memorandum was signed here at the DMC office after a meeting of the DMC, DMC rate control department, Phek District Farmers’ Association (PDFA) and DVWC. It was agreed that the DVWC would buy the cabbages starting from next week till season gets over.
The PDFA said it would be able to supply 4 loads of tata mobile vehicle daily.
PDFA president said that the farmers produced 1,200 metric tones of cabbage in the current year where half of the total produce was still remaining.
Meanwhile, DMC has once again called upon the Longkhum farmers to approach them for any assistance in marketing their produce particularly tomatoes.
