In a bid to create more awareness about cleanliness and waste management systems and to learn the mechanisms of sustaining community eco-tourism, Phek Town Council has organized an exposure trip for thirty-three GBs, ward and youth functionaries of Phek district, to Meghalaya from October 23 to 25.
A press release by the administrator of Phek Town Council (PTC) said that the tour is being co-sponsored by the Urban Development department of Nagaland under a capacity building program of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The group, led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner and administrator of Phek Town Council, will be visiting various places during their educational tour. These places will include Cheerapunji, Dawki, Shillong and the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong.
