Philately Day observed at Pfutsero

Department of Post organised Philately Day at Government Higher Secondary School Pfutsero & Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Lewoza under Nagaland division on October 11.


An introduction to philately and significance of national postal week was shared by Rajani Jha, SDIPO Kohima and ME Nagaland shared on significance of hand written letters in the digital era and Dhai Akhar letter writing competition.


A total of six schools participated in the letter writing competition with a total of 597 participants in both Envelope category and ILC category. Two School Philatelic clubs were set up with 40 students each from both schools.
The district level letter writing competition winner Khroko Koza, Union Christian School Pfutsero received Rs 5000.


Verolii Ruho of Nazareth School Pfutsero and Neipe-u Mero of Government Higher Secondary School stood in second and third positions and received Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively.


The five consolation winners included; Vithu-u Lasuh, Nazareth School, Kuzo Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Ngotsotolu Baptist School, Joyey Seb ,Baptist school and Mutulu Kezo, Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.
