Pholami village agri link road from Veyie Khudüka to Thetherü constructed under MGNREGA 2014-15 was inaugurated by project director, District Rural Development Agency, Phek Razouvolie Dozo on December 3. He was accompanied by block development officer Chizami RD block, Veduzo Sasü.
A press release by secretary VDB Pholami village, Shiekhoto Resüh stated that project director in his speech said that, the department of RD Nagaland was like a mother to the villages in the grass root level. He opined that the latest MGNREGA guidelines stressed to provide 60% of the fund to agri and allied sector, so as to improve individual economy, it stated. The release also informed that he appealed the villagers to focus on agri and allied sector and said that selection of crop was very important according to the climatic condition of the locality, while also asking the villagers to be hard working and sincere in their profession and inculcate work culture to the next generation.
He appreciated Pholami village for creating durable assets in the form of agri-link road and Horti-link roads out of MGNREGA and asked the villagers to keep up the good work, while also appreciating Pholami for its unity as one village, one religion, one denomination and one church which was rare and asked the villagers to keep up the unity and extend co-operation to the department of RD even in the future, stated the release.
The programme was chaired by Zacüsa Medeo, invocation by pastor PBC Vezokho Vezhü, welcome address by VDB secretary Shiekhoto Resuh, indigenous tune was presented by Good Shepherd School, Pholami and vote of thanks was pronounced by VCC Pholami Nevotso Medeo.
