Several Phom organizations– Phomla Hoichem Tamlu Town (PHTT), Tamlu Village Vangvünglla (TVV) and Kangching Shuthei Vongangla (KSV), have strongly condemned the alleged rape of a woman by a police constable on September 3, 2022.
The incident reportedly took place at Nangmah farm area. In a joint statement, presidents of PHTT L. Khemla, TVV Manlem Phom and KSS Yükvau Phom have urged the authority concerned to take up the matter seriously and book the culprit as per appropriate law so as to ensure justice to the victim.
Meanwhile, according to police sources, the accused was reportedly apprehended and a case registered at Women Police Station, Longleng.
