PHOMCCA and disaster management committee launched

Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) Nyengching, Longleng marked another achievement towards community development and conservation with the launching of the Phom Community Conservation Area (PHOMCCA) and Disaster Management Committee on November 21 by MLA, S. Pangnyu Phom as the chief guest.
In his address, S. Pangnyu encouraged the gathering to implement the programme strictly in all the villages in Longleng district. He said such initiative by a church was first of its kind and said that it should be a model for others to emulate. The chief guest also inaugurated the PBCA headquarters gate.
It has been informed that continuous seminars and workshops are being conducted through the PBCA implicating the community to come out with strong resolutions to address the issue, leading to the consequent youth, churches, civil societies and public organizations to resolve towards the safeguard of the environment.
PHOMCCA would work closely with the village councils, VDBs, district administration, civil societies, NGOs and churches and for strict implementation of environmental concerns projects in Longleng district.
The program was also attended by the deputy commissioner Longleng, Y. Denngan Avennoho, additional SP Longleng Yanger and other government officials. Kangching Baptist Church, Phom Lempong School and Phom Lempong Hostel presented initiatives on help in human life live sustenance.
DEF Longleng demonstrated an event based demo on responding to different disaster and also a drama based on the importance of conserving and preserving different wild species, Bio-Diversity initiatives on Climate Change and Community Conservation was acted by Kangching Youth Department, PLS school and PL hostellers.  The first session was led by headmaster PLH, Chingdam and the second session was led by teacher PLS, H. Chumei.
