Press Information Bureau (PIB), Guwahati, held a “Varta” press conference at Kohima Press Club on Monday, unveiling details about the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025.
Scheduled to take place in Mumbai from May 1-4, the summit promises to be a landmark event for India’s media, entertainment, and technology sectors.
Sonikumar Singh, Assistant Director of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, PIB Kohima, highlighted the summit’s focus on innovation, collaboration, and showcasing India’s advancements in animation, visual effects, gaming, and extended reality (XR).
He emphasized the summit’s goal of positioning India as a global hub for the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) sector, fostering talent development and entrepreneurship.
The summit will serve as a key networking platform for creators, industry experts, and investors, with participation from several countries. Supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, WAVES 2025 aims to unite the film, television, OTT, animation, gaming, and immersive technology industries on a global stage.
