Pimla case: Zeliangrong bodies to protest in Dmu today

DIMAPUR, AUG 24 (NPN)

Days after refusing to withdraw its protest following the cancellation of bail granted to the accused in the Pimla murder case, Zeliangrong organizations have resolved to hold a protest on August 25 at Naga Shopping Arcade (Supermarket) Dimapur on Monday at 11 a.m.
The protest is being jointly organized by Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland, Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation and Western Naga Youth Front. ZYON president, R John Zeliang had informed that the organization would continue with its agitation until the law enforcing agencies, the judiciary, or the state government, formally declare the name of the accused in public.

CYO, WSYF extend solidarity; caution against WNYF protest: Chakroma Youth Organisation (CYO) and Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) have jointly expressed strong solidarity with ZYON in its demand for justice over the unresolved murder case at Pimla Village, which occurred on April 7, 2025.
In a joint statement, CYO president Medochuzo Medoze and WSYF president, Atokiho Sumi urged law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation and deliver justice to the victim without further delay. While acknowledging the efforts of the authorities, they reminded that “justice delayed is justice denied,” and called for swift action to apprehend the perpetrators and uncover the truth.
However, CYO and WSYF clarified that they do not endorse the group operating under the banner “Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF)” or its call for a peaceful protest scheduled for August 25. Reiterating their earlier joint resolution, the two organisations stated that they neither recognise nor acknowledge any association functioning under the name WNYF or any platform affiliated with it.
In this regard, both youth bodies cautioned members of their respective communities to refrain from participating in any activities or associations linked to WNYF.
