
DIMAPUR: The Planning & Transformation Department and the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD) organised separate farewell programmes on June 30 to honour senior officers retiring after decades of dedicated service to the State.
According to DIPR report, at Hotel Japfü, the Planning & Transformation Department accorded farewell to Vilhouhunuo Sachu, who retired as Additional Development Commissione, and N. Likao Kikon as Joint Development Commissioner. Incoming JDC Tesinle Kent highlighted their professional careers, noting Sachu joined service in 1995 and retired as ADC in June 2026, while Kikon entered service in 1994 and rose to JDC in March 2026 before retiring the same month.
Secretary P. Nungsangwapang Jamir lauded their discipline, commitment and professionalism, describing them as assets to both the department and the State.
Officers and staff shared tributes, while Kikon in his farewell address expressed gratitude for the support received throughout his career. The programme was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Heinswading and concluded with a vote of thanks by DDC B. Chingmei Phom.
Meanwhile, NPWD organised a farewell at its conference hall for Engineer in Chief Er. K. Imnajungba and Chief Engineer (NH) Er. T. Sao Sangtam. In their addresses, the outgoing officers expressed gratitude to colleagues and urged younger engineers to serve with sincerity and commitment. They shared experiences from their careers, emphasising the importance of prayer and perseverance in overcoming challenges. Senior officers commended them as dynamic leaders and instrumental figures in the department. The programme featured speeches, a group song by staff, and a presentation honouring their contributions. It was chaired by EE Er. Akule Pusa and concluded with a vote of thanks by Addl. CE Er. Fineson Pojar.
Both departments acknowledged the invaluable service, leadership and dedication of the retiring officers, wishing them a fulfilling retired life.
