Plea to observe ‘Earth hour’

Department of New and Renewable Energy has called upon individuals and citizens to join hands in switching off lights from one hour (8:30 pm -9:30 pm) on the occasion of ‘Earth Hour’ on March 19. 
The department in a press statement said, that focusing one’s commitment in curtailing electricity for one hour could immensely contribute towards mitigation of Climate Change.  Further, the department on behalf of the state government has sought support and solidarity to the movement by pledging and mitigating emissions of GHGs by switching off non-essential lights in households, offices and other spaces.
