Poilwa Lui Nagaland (PLN) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union (Nagaland) have vehemently condemned the brutal sexual assault of a 26-year-old daughter at Ngwalwa village by one Benjamin Terieng (33) on September 8 2023.
PLN chairman Kochuiding and general secretary Dr. Hedungkiebe said that the nature of injuries and damages caused to her private part and internal organs was culpable of attempt to murder, for which every right thinking individual should condemn the crime at highest level. While appreciating the police for booking the culprit promptly, PLN demanded award stringent punishment as per the law.
Meanwhile, expressing solidarity with the victim, PLN said any attempt to prematurely release the culprit or attempt to belittle the grievous issue by any individual/society would be viewed as being conniving with the culprit to encourage such heinous crimes even in the future.
ZSUN: Zeliangrong Students’ Union (Nagaland) has also vehemently condemned and expressed shock to learn about the gruesome rape of a woman allegedly by one Benjamin Terieng on September 8.
In a press note, ZSUN said that the union condemned the “notorious act meted out to one of our sisters from our Peren district, who was physically assaulted and heartlessly raped.” Such act to an innocent individual must be publicly condemned by all sensible citizens and should be labelled as “a cowardice act”, the union stated.
Asserting that such heinous act was unacceptable in the society, ZSUN urged upon the concerned authority to award befitting punishment and deliver justice to the victim and the family.
The union demanded stern action as per the provision of law against such heinous crime.
