Department of Agriculture, SDAO office, Naginimora launched Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), a central sector scheme, under Naginimora sub-division, on February 27.
A press release from department of Agriculture Naginimora, SDAO, H Lawrence stated that Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Naginimora, Renabomo Odyuo, was the special guest of the program. Renabomo lauded the Agriculture department for taking up many activities in the sub-division.
He also urged farmers to cooperate with the department so that these activities may be successful.
H. Lawrence, who chaired the function, explained the guidelines and features of PM-Kisan. Under this scheme, a farmer who has cultivable land holdings of up-to 2 hectares will get Rs. 6000 per annum in three instalments of Rs. 2000 each. The PM-Kisan scheme was launched nationwide by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 at Gorakhpur, UP. Around 50 farmers attended the launching program in Naginimora.
PM-Kisan for Niuland subdivision launched: PM-Kisan for Niuland sub-division was also officially launched by additional deputy commissioner, Niuland, Athrila S on February 25 at sub-divisional agriculture office (SDAO), Niuland.
A press release from SDAO office Niuland, stated that the ADC encouraged farmers to judiciously utilize funds received under the scheme. She also appealed to the village council chairman and GBs to select deserving beneficiaries so that targeted farmers were benefited under this scheme.
A keynote address was delivered by L. Kivika Chophi, SDAO, where the objectives and guidelines of the scheme were highlighted.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Shekheto, AFA.
A total of 50 enrolled beneficiaries along with village council chairmen, council members and GBs attended the launching program.
