PM urges public participation in digital Census 2027

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the ongoing Census exercise is a shared responsibility of all citizens, stressing that public participation is vital for its success.
Addressing ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi assured that all data collected would remain secure and confidential through robust digital systems. He described Census 2027 as one of the most important national exercises and the largest of its kind globally, being conducted fully in digital format.
Enumerators are using mobile applications for real-time data collection, while a self-enumeration option allows citizens to submit details online in advance and receive a unique ID for verification. Modi said around 1.2 crore families have been covered so far.
