Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) beneficiaries association under Mokokchung district has announced the shutting down Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank at Mokokchung starting from September 2, 2019 for refusing to sanction the entitled loan and subsidies to the genuine selected beneficiaries.
In a representation addressed o the Governor of Nagaland, the association said that the beneficiaries who were selected a few years ago were facing undue and untold hardships.
They said that banks were refusing to sanction despite repeated appeals through representations and intervention of the deputy commissioner, who is also the chairman of the selection committee.
Therefore, the beneficiaries said they were left with no option but to shutdown those responsible banks for an indefinite period till their demand was fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the association has expressed regret to the customers of those banks for inconveniences.
