PMMVY enrolment drive in Kohima district

Kohima District Administration, in collaboration with SANKALP–District Hub for Empowerment of Women under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), will conduct an intensive enrolment drive for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a maternity benefit scheme.
The scheme offers financial support to pregnant women and lactating mothers. Rs. 5,000 will be provided for the first birth, and Rs. 6,000 for a second birth if the child is a girl. The amount will be directly transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. PMMVY is applicable to all Scheduled Tribe (ST) women except regular government employees.
To facilitate enrolment, on-the-spot Aadhaar registration and opening of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) accounts will be available at each location.
The drive will be held as follows: Kezocha Block: Council Hall, Kezoma Village on July 21 from 10 a.m; Jakhama Block: Panchayat Hall, Viswema Village on July 22 from 10 a.m and Chiephobozou Block: CDPO Office, Chiephobozou Town on July 25 from 10 a.m.
Village Councils have been asked to inform the community and mobilise eligible beneficiaries to attend with the necessary documents.
