PMMVY maternity benefit scheme

District Programme Officer (DPO) Dimapur, Bonathung Ngullie has informed the public that the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a maternity benefit scheme implemented by Department of Social Welfare Nagaland, is a conditional cash transfer (DBT) scheme of Rs. 5000 for pregnant women and lactating mothers of 19 years of age and above. 

The First Live Birth payment will be paid in three instalments, and forms for this will be available at Anganwadi centres and/CDPO’s office. The first instalment of Rs.1000 will be paid at the time the pregnancy is registered at the nearest Anganwadi centre; the second instalment of Rs. 2000 will be paid after attendance at at-least one ante-natal check-up (ANC), IFA tablets and TT injection and counselling session at Anganwadi centre. 

The third instalment of Rs. 2000 will be paid after registration of birth, and immunisation of child at six and ten weeks (first cycle). Photocopies of the following documents are to be submitted: Aadhaar cards of both husband and wife (beneficiary); beneficiary’s bank account details in her name; Mother and Child Protection Card (MCP) after registration at government health centre; birth certificate of child (at time of third instalment and institutional birth). 

The scheme is for first pregnancy for women above 19 years age. It can be availed by women whose Last Menstrual Period (LMP) was two years from the present date.
